History

Siefert Associates, LLC was founded in June of 2000 by Vincent Siefert. At that time he was working out of an extra bedroom in his home and with his dog by his side. Since then, Siefert Associates, LLC has grown from a one-person operation to a team of 35-plus working out of two office locations - Watertown, CT and White Plains NY. Siefert has quickly become the professional engineering firm of choice in the New York City metropolitan area.

Before founding the firm in the year 2000, I had been working for contractors, achieving the rank of General Superintendent, coincidentally on the Founder’s Bridge over the Connecticut River – a +$100M project in Hartford, CT. I was attracted to the specialty field of Construction Engineering where I am able to combine a practical understanding of construction with engineering skills in order to deliver practical solutions to clients. I initially started as a sole proprietor in the NYC Metro area, and now have grown the firm to 35+ employees providing services throughout the United States and Canada. During my early career, I worked with construction and engineering firms Moretrench American, Walsh Construction (Div. of Guy F. Atkinson), Kiewit Eastern, George A. Tomasso Construction and Zieman Engineering. I was fortunate to have experienced Building Construction at first, and then later on I found myself in the Heavy Highway Civil Construction Industry. My wife Eva and I are the proud parents of four daughters, and very honored to be grandparents to several grandchildren. Throughout our fantastic life journey, a Labrador or Golden Retriever has always accompanied our family. In my free time, I enjoy the great outdoors, traveling, listening to live music, and entertaining, skiing, biking, hiking, coating, motorcycling, fishing, and more recently yoga and meditation. I joined Siefert Associates in 2010 after a combined 11 years in construction engineering and structural design. My ability to visualize complex structures allows me to help project teams identify challenges prior to construction. Our clients can turn to me for creative solutions based on my comprehensive engineering knowledge, attention to detail, and hands-on experience. Prior to Siefert Associates, I spent five years in the building design and construction field. My work included designing complete foundation and framing systems, and structural reinforcements for light commercial buildings and custom homes. My career started at Zieman Engineering, where I provided construction engineering solutions to contractors working on complex infrastructure projects. My work included designing temporary supports, temporary bracing, jacking systems, mobile crane installations, and associated custom rigging equipment.
