On May 8, Siefert Associates was awarded the ACE Award for Construction for the "Innovative Use of a Groin Structure" as part of the public Beach Restoration portion of the Amtrak Bridge Replacement over the Niantic River project. The structure temporarily allowed Cianbro-Middlesex JV to deliver replenishment sand by barge eliminating all truck traffic through downtown Niantic.

On April 19, 2013, Yonkers Contracting Company selected Siefert Associates to design a custom rescue davit system for use at the East Side Access 44th Street Vent Plant project in New York, NY.

On April 27-28, Koch Skanska used Siefert Associates working drawings successfully to remove the Brooklyn Bridge Approach York St. Structure existing deck and replaced it with Temporary Deck Units. After a successful operation and faster than expected replacement the technique will be utilized elsewhere on the project during other critical weekend shutdowns. See a photo of the demolition here.

In April, Siefert Associates was awarded a Professional Engineering Services contract to conduct Forensic Investigation of a 36000 sq.ft. existing building including sub-surface investigations, pile foundation evaluation and structural steel evaluation to determine possible causes for structural distress of the building in Norwalk, CT.

In April, Middlesex Corporation, using Siefert Associates engineered lift plans, successfully finished the erection of the girders on the New Flatbush Overpass Bridge for the Hartford-New Britain Busway project.

In March, Siefert Associates was selected to present in an upcoming ASCE Seminar for Temporary Structures in Construction, in Dallas TX on Sept 13-14. Focus area is the "Safe Handling of Prefabricated Rebar Cages", including Use of state of the art Equipment, Engineering Practices and Detailing Requirements.
