The Triborough Bridge Reconstruction Project included the replacement of the existing I-278 viaduct bridge deck structure with a new precast concrete deck cast integral with steel stringers. This was a showcase project for Koch Skanska who utilized conventional cranes, often supported on the existing structure, to remove and replace the existing bridge. Siefert Associates, LLC was responsible for the demolition and erection plans for over 45 spans. The scope of work also included crane dunnage analysis, lifting insert design, jacking plans, pier cap post tensioning, steel retrofit details, temporary roadway plates and general construction engineering support services throughout the life of the successful project.
